Member Of Connecticut Drug Trafficking Network Sentenced To Ten Years

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the US District Court in Hartford, U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant sentenced Ramel General to 10 years of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release.

In March of 2020, General pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

During a DEA led investigation of a Connecticut drug trafficking network that included wiretaps and controlled purchases and seizures of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, and firearms it was determined that General was working with an identified leader of a drug trafficking network, distributing cocaine on behalf of the drug trafficking network and assisting in maintaining an apartment in New London that served as the primary narcotics distribution location for the drug trafficking network.

In February of 2019, a search warrant was executed at the New London apartment and 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, more than 350 grams of heroin, and 10 firearms was recovered.
