On Monday, as the result of an investigation by the Jersey City Violent Crime Initiative, two known members of the Bloods street gang, Markell Brown, a/k/a “Sayboy,” 32, and Terence Shaw, a/k/a “Sweet Meat,” 32, both of Jersey City, are each charged with conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering, three counts of murder in aid of racketeering, three counts of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and three counts of causing death through use of a firearm.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on January 16, 2017 Brown and Shaw entered a residence on Fulton Avenue in Jersey City where they murdered a rival gang member as well as the gang member’s pregnant girlfriend and their own associate, who had accompanied them to commit the murders.
The rival gang member was shot in the back of the head, the laft arm and the right shoulder.
The pregnant girlfriend of the rival gang member was shot in the back of the head and in the chest.
To eliminate the possibility that their associate would provide information to law enforcement, they shot him in the chest as they exited the apartment.
